THE MOTION PICTURE & TELEVISION FUND ISSUES THE FOLLOWING
STATEMENT REGARDING ITS SERVICES FOR MEMBERS OF THE ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY
AFFECTED BY THE CURRENT WORK STOPPAGE
WOODLAND HILLS, Calif., Nov. 29, 2007 – The Motion Picture
& Television Fund (MPTF), the premier health and social services charity of
the entertainment industry, today issued the following statement from David
Tillman, M.D., president and CEO of MPTF:
“The current work stoppage has resulted in unemployment for
entertainment industry professionals, many of whom may experience financial
hardship or other crises during this difficult time. The Motion Picture & Television Fund
wants to remind those in the industry that MPTF is here to take care of our own
and provide assistance to those in need. From counseling, helping access community resources, and even providing
financial support, the Fund offers a variety of services that can help industry
professionals and their families. Our
mission since 1921 has been to provide relief to people in the industry who
have fallen on hard times. This relief
is provided year-round whenever it is needed, whether the result of an industry
crisis or a personal one. We want MPTF
to be the first call that people make when circumstances become difficult. I
strongly encourage those in need to contact us. Call
(323) 634-3888 to find out how MPTF can be of assistance.”
