Elder Connection

The Entertainment Industry's Trusted Resource

The Motion Picture & Television Fund’s Elder Connection program provides guidance, resources, and hands-on assistance to senior adults and their families who are experiencing lifestyle issues related to aging.

When Hollywood was dominated by the studio system, entertainment industry employees bought homes close to the studios and many have remained in those homes past retirement.  Elder Connection aims to enable industry retirees to age safely in place in these naturally occurring retirement communities (NORCs) throughout Los Angeles County.

Through Elder Connection, the MPTF, in partnership with other agencies, provides comprehensive and coordinated social, financial, and healthcare services that enhance the quality of life for industry seniors and enable them to remain in their own homes.

If you have concerns about an aging parent, family member, friend, or loved one, Elder Connection can be a vital resource with services that may include:
  • Assessment of Care Needs
  • Financial Assistance
  • Supportive Counseling
  • Help for Caregivers
Elder Connection may also help with referrals such as:
  • Housing alternatives
  • Home care agencies
  • Transportation services
  • Home delivered meals
  • Support groups
  • Medicare and Medi-Cal information
