Retirement Living Story

"My children asked me to live with them while I was recovering from quadruple bypass surgery, but I didn’t want to be a burden so I began to look at other options. I was very reluctant to give up my independence, and was concerned that moving into a senior community wouldn’t be the right environment for me. The Motion Picture Country Home has given me the independence I wanted plus so much more. I have the freedom of coming and going as I please, with the added benefits of really good prepared meals and having a doctor and a pharmacy easily accessible. I can also use the new fitness and pool facility, and have started a regular exercise regimen. I still go out to eat at restaurants and do things in the local area, but there is so much to do here, I find myself getting involved in all the activities. I’ve recently gotten involved with MPTF’s in-house television station Channel 22, which lets me get back to my love of producing, pass along some of my knowledge to a new generation and stay active and connected to the industry."
