The Golden Boot Awards was held from 1983 - 2007.
Once referred to as the “Academy Awards of the Western,” the Golden Boot Awards were established to recognize those performers, stunt people, producers, and directors
who have furthered the tradition of the Western on film and in television.
2007 Golden Boot Awards honored Viggo Mortensen, Martin Kove, Lee Horsley, Walt La Rue, Caruth Byrd, and Academy Award-winning actress Eva Marie Saint.
In 2007, The Golden Boot Founders Award was presented to Patrick Wayne on behalf of his father, the legendary John Wayne. Jacqueline Autry, wife of western icon Gene Autry received the Champion Award.
