What Is Gift Planning?
Planned gifts provide the resources that support the programs and services of the Motion Picture & Television Fund. Your planned gift can protect our legacy and promote a more secure future for your friends and family who helped build the entertainment industry.
Potential benefits of planned gifts:
- Increase current income for the donor or others
- Reduce the donor's income tax
- Avoid capital gains tax
- Pass assets to family at a reduced tax cost
- Make significant donations to charity
We would be happy to help you craft a planned gift to meet your charitable and financial goals. Please visit our Gift Planning website for more about all the opportunities we can provide.
If you are a professional advisor or looking for someone to help guide you in your gift planning, you should take advantage of our Professional Advisory Network.

The Motion Picture & Television Fund's Professional Advisory Network (PAN) is for advisors with clients in the motion picture and television industries. PAN is comprised primarily of attorneys, CPA's, CFP's, business managers and wealth managers, all dedicated to helping MPTF fulfill its important mission.
In creating this group of professionals, the MPTF seeks to deliver quality educational opportunities to the PAN membership and to facilitate productive and mutually rewarding relationships among its members.
The first three quarterly luncheon meetings are held at the LUXE Hotel on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles, and the Fourth quarterly luncheon meeting is held at the Motion Picture & Television Fund campus in Woodland Hills. The featured program is presented by leading experts in the field of estate planning, charitable gift planning, and other areas of interest. The meetings provide one hour of continuing education credit to attending members.

What is the George Burns Legacy Society?
In 1985, George Burns made a generous gift to establish the George Burns Intensive Care Unit at the Motion Picture & Television Hospital.
He continued his care and compassion through a living trust.
It is the benevolent spirit of Mr. Burns that the Motion Picture & Television Fund honors. George Burns's dedication to the human condition of those in his beloved "show business" will be memorialized through the George Burns Legacy Society.
The George Burns Legacy Society allows one the opportunity to support MPTF through an estate giving or charitable trust arrangement.
Your gift will help to ensure that MPTF will be there for future generations of the entertainment community.
Benefits of Membership:
- Personal recognition in MPTF Foundation publications.
- A lifetime subscription to the quarterly George Burns Legacy Society newsletter, which offers industry updates and other timely and important information.
- Invitation to annual recognition events and other special programs, including exclusive motion picture screenings.
